What Ammonia Does to Your Lashes & Brows
Ammonia is a strong alkaline agent often used in traditional tints to open the hair cuticle so pigment can penetrate. While this creates intense colour, it also strips away natural moisture and can cause dryness, brittleness, or irritation, particularly with repeated use.
It’s also known for its strong, unpleasant odour and can cause stinging or redness if it comes into contact with skin or eyes.
At Everbare, we believe beautiful colour shouldn’t come at the cost of lash or brow health.
The Everbare Alternative
Instead of harsh ammonia, Everbare’s tint formula uses Ethanolamine – a gentler pH adjuster that helps pigment absorb without causing the same level of hair damage.
We pair our colour with Cetearyl Alcohol and Glyceryl Stearate, which condition and protect the hair during processing for a smoother, more comfortable tinting experience.
The result? Deep, even colour that lasts – without leaving lashes or brows feeling dry or stripped.

With a mildly acidic pH levels, it’s designed to minimise irritation. However, we always recommend performing a patch test 24 hours before use.
Will the tint damage my lashes or brows?
No, when used correctly. The plant-based formula is designed to nourish as it tints, leaving lashes and brows looking fuller and healthier.
Can I use this tint after a lash lift?
Yes! You can apply the tint immediately after completing your lash lift. We recommend using the Everbare Lash Lift together with our kit.
